Tina Marie Zepeda is a Costume Designer and Costumer with extensive experience in film and television. Her career began over a decade ago, when she followed her long time dream of moving to Los Angeles to work in motion pictures. In that time, she has learned all of the roles and responsibilities of the costume department.
Tina’s calling began at a young age. As a second generation Chicana (Mexican-American), growing up in a blue collar neighborhood in the Southeast side of Chicago, she quickly learned the value of hard work and commitment in order to achieve her goals.
Tina would spend hours with her grandmother, who only spoke Spanish, making paper dolls, which was their unique flavor of communication. Their handcrafted figurines etched a passion for storytelling into Tina’s soul, specifically through clothing.
From elementary through secondary school, Tina fed her creativity further with painting, sculpting, building sets for school plays, and creative writing.
The love of art and creating led her to earn a BFA in Fashion Studies at Columbia College Chicago.
One of Tina's biggest challenges was working on a film in Japan where, as a costumer supervisor, Tina learned how to keep track of a fast moving budget in three different currencies and how to organize traveling a truck of clothing throughout the country.
After 10 years of experience in costumes, Tina has been recognized by her coworkers and was highlighted as costumer “In The Spotlight” by local 705,
